Summary: REVISED review - so bummed about my Tango! 2008-05-07
Comment: Since my first review, I have had a change of heart regarding my Tango. When I was researching this stroller, I saw the negative review regarding the latch not staying secure when in use and I chalked it up to one customer's unfortunate issue. Well, it is now also my unfortunate issue. After using the stroller a few times, it began to fold in on itself whenever we hit a small bump, or if I had to gently tilt the stroller backward like you do sometimes to get up over small curbs or over some other small bump in the sidewalk. I could not believe it! My kids were in it and it kept happening! I took it back to the store where I purchased the stroller and was told that this was the first time they had heard of that issue. I printed out the review here from the other customer and also one I found on buzzillions about the same issue to show them I was not the only one this had happened to.

I was offered another Tango and I said no thanks. I bought the Baby Jogger City Mini Double instead. So, BUYER BEWARE, if you go with the Tango please be aware of this potential issue. I sent a letter to Zooper about it in hopes that they will look into it. It's not just an inconvenience, it is a true safety hazard.

If Amazon would let me change my "star" rating, it would now be a zero.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

I'm not sure if some of the other negative reviews are for the 2007 model, but the 2008 model is great! The "bar" issue in the basket area has been solved, and the canopies are absolutely the best of any stroller I have ever seen as far as coverage goes. NO other side-by-side (except the Baby Jogger City Mini Double) has such coverage. I have a Peg Perego Aria Twin and I have never been so disappointed in a stroller - it is extremely hard to maneuver and the canopies are horrible. Thankfully I only paid $80 for it on Craigslist.

So, this year I decided to use part of our tax refund on a nice stroller, finally, for my 18 month old twins and after literally weeks of searching and reading all the reviews and driving myself crazy, I narrowed it down to the Zooper Tango and the Baby Jogger City Mini Double.

I am fortunate to live in Los Angeles where one store had both models on the floor. To be quite honest, I would have gone with the Baby Jogger but for two things: The seats are very narrow, and even in their most upright position, they are reclined a little and my kids kept wanting to sit up. So I went with the Zooper.

The only real downsides of the Zooper are: The fold. It is a bit cumbersome and although they say it locks easily, the floor model I tried and my actual stroller that I purchased do not lock easily. It takes a few steps and can be a pain in the butt, but you get used to it and every stroller has some sort of downside. I have no idea why they couldn't have made it fold more compact, but if you have an SUV, wagon or minivan, this should not pose a problem.

The other downside is that the "peekabo" windows are sort of a mesh material, very very hard to see through. I don't understand at all why they used that material. Seems like a really simple thing to do, and yet they fell short on this big time.

And it says it fits through most standard doorways, this hasn't been that big of a problem, but some doorways are not standard. This is where pretty much any side by side will pose problems. I sort of have to think ahead where I intend to go when using this stroller. If I am going to a store with narrow aisles or doors, it's almost impossible to shop with this stroller - but again, any side by side would be the same so this is not unique to the Zooper.

My bottom line review is: If you have young babies and/or don't mind narrow seats or the slight recline issue of the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, I'd go with that stroller. But, if you are looking for a side by side to last you a long time and that your kids can grow in to, then I'd go with the Zooper. I have not been unhappy with my purchase.

Summary: Great Stroller, Easy to Turn and Fits Most Car Seats 2008-03-27
Comment: We bought this stroller after our second child arrived. We use it for our 2 year old son, and 3 month old baby boy in a car seat.

The stroller has very deft handling. You can get through tight spaces with surprising grace for a double-stroller. My wife did not want a bulky "limousine" style stroller because they are unwieldy and very large and heavy.

The stroller has plenty of storage room, zippers, pockets, and under seat stowage. It also folds up nicely and fits in the trunk of both our car and SUV with room to spare.

The seller "The Baby Outlet" shipped it to us. It had some minor shipping damage (a cut in the handle) and they promptly gave us a credit to compensate for the damage, saving us the hassle of having to ship it back. They did a great job.

Summary: Nice ride. Great for twins of any age. 2008-01-31
Comment: After much research I ordered this stroller in red. Rides nice and smooth, turns on a dime. People stop to ask where you got your cool stroller. Looks like a double pram from the side when fully reclined ...very cool.Is a bit heavy but what double stroller isn't. Has a nice removable cup holder and lots of zipper pockets for storage so you don't have to bring a purse along (and I am very high maintenance). Plenty of room for everything. Can hold quite a few small shopping bags in bottom, but you cannot put in a huge diaper bag due to the bar that separates the large compartment. Seats recline fully for infant naps. And there's netting in back of the hoods when unzipped so you can see your babies and they can feel a breeze in warm weather. There's also a netting you can button to the front bar to keep infants toys and feet from falling out of stroller. Comes with nice heavy double boot for cold winter days, and a rain cover, and a UV cover. Front bar is nice to attach toys to with link a do rings. Love my stroller. Got four stars due to bottom compartment issue, but is much sturdier than the peg perego apria I tried out.

Summary: Best Double Stroller EVER!!! 2008-01-26
Comment: After having done months and months of research...buying and returning a double Phil & Teds (which I hated)...I decided to by a Zooper Tango. This is absolutely the best double stroller on the market. Well worth the investment:
- light weight so its easy to lift into cars
- easy to fold and assemble
- compact folding
- folds flat for sleeping infants
- big wheels, easy to navigate
- big basket
- comes with sun shade, rain cover and foot muffs (so no extra costs!)
- and Zooper has EXCELLENT customer service!
I would absolutely, without a doubt recommend this stroller to anyone with twins or with children of different ages (i have twins and a toddler who loves to climb in and out of the stroller)
The only (very minor)obstacle is a bar on the bottom of the stroller which obstructs the entry to the very ample basket. if your not one to pack and carry huge bags, its not even an issue.

GREAT PURCHASE would do it again in a heartbeat. Wish I had known about zooper with my first pregnancy!

Summary: Best Double Stroller Out There! 2008-01-18
Comment: My hsusband and I just opened the box for our new Zooper Tango last night and we LOVE it!!!! It's exactly like the picture, suprisingly compact, but still can seat two with room to spare and is very easy to use. Opening and closing it can be a bit tricky, but it's a new and different design then most strollers, so as with anything, practice makes perfect.

I've seen several people complain about the bar being in the way of the basket, and unless you're planning on hauling some major packages or very large items, I can't see this being a huge problem. The basket is so much roomier than any of the other brands I've seen on the street or in the mall and it doesn't appear to have the sagging problem that everyone complains about with the Peg Perego.

One of the greatest features of this stroller is that the canopies operate independently AND they come all the way down to the bumper bar. For someone who does a lot of outdoor walking, this is an absolute life safer. It'll protect your kids from all the elements. Plus, they give you the boot, the rain cover and the UV protection shade. Each of these items go for at least $25 in the store (for a good one) and to have one that is made exactly for your stroller is such a nice bonus.

One of my biggest problems with other double strollers is that they don't fit other manufacturer's baby seats (what a crock!). We have a babyseat/stroller system now, and I really have been disappointed with our Graco stroller. I couldn't see giving them any more of my money, or buying a whole new seat just to buy a new and better double stroller. The Zooper was the perfect and only solution on the market.

Yes, this stroller is a bit on the bulky side (it folds up a little strangely) and is somewhat heavy but anyone with any upper body strength should be able to handle lifting this stroller. My Graco single seat stroller weighs 23lbs, this stroller weighs 27lbs. Pretty impressive considering the size. The Graco Duo Glider weighs 37lbs! That's obscene.

I'm sure that I'll find other flaws with this stroller as time wears on, but I couldn't be happier that I chose to spend a little bit more money on this one. I can't wait to take it out for a spin!
