Product Description

The new 2007 Phil & Ted's Sport stroller has made a good thing even better! The Phil & Ted's Sport Buggy has kept all the great features of the popular e3 model, including the adjustable smooth swivel / fixed wheel design and single action dual-rear brakes, but also includes many innovative additions that won't leave you guessing why it's called “new and improved”.   The Sport is the perfect stroller for any growing family, as the Phil & Ted's Sport Doubles Kit easily clicks into place so that this stylish single stroller can quickly accommodate another child. The adjustable padded seat allows for comfort and ideal positioning for infants of any age, ranging from a completely flat bed for newborns to an upright chair for toddlers.     Fact is 75% percent of families at some stage will have 2 children less than 3 years apart. At that time they are going to need one buggy that caters for two children. The Sport, coupled with the available Phil & Ted's Sport Doubles Kit, allows you to carry one or two children and saves you the high cost of having to purchase another double buggy when number 2 comes along.   Weighing only 24lbs, the Sport is an extremely lightweight and maneuverable stroller that gives parents the freedom to take advantage of the all-terrain design. Available in many different colors of water-resistant fabric, this sleek and compact stroller really is one of a kind.  Phil & Ted's did it again!   Other features include:   Alloy and steel frame “Peek-a-boo” window in canopy Adjustable ergonomic handle Adjustable crotch restraint Lower storage basket with two pockets Inflatable tires Solid steel axles Removable safety bar Max load: Single position, 55lbs; single & toddler, 88lbs Dimensions: 24"w x 48"l x 43"h; Folded: 36"w x 23"l x 11"h     BabyBecause also carries a full range of great accessories for your Phil & Ted's buggy.

Summary: Awesome stroller!!! 2008-04-10
Comment: I bought this stroller as a single stroller for my first baby. I also bought the doubles kit to put away.
I LOVE this stroller. It pushes so smoothly and my son is extremely comfortable in it. I've even used the doubles kit numerous times to take my nephew out and it's great.
It is quite heavy for a single stroller, but comparable in weight to other double strollers. I use it primarily for walking, so it's not really an issue. My only complaint-the brake is really hard to use.
I would recommend this stroller greatly.

Summary: Wonderful stroller with a few pet-peeves 2008-02-22
Comment: We have had this stroller for our 9 month old and 3 year old for almost 6 months now and absolutely love it. It is incredibly easy to steer and folds wonderfully to fit in any vehicle.

Things I would want them to change though is the size of the hood - it's insanely small and awkward, you can't move it at all, other than to take if off or have it entirely open.

Also, when the infant is laying down, his feet are actually higher than the rest of the body, because of the stroller's structure.

Other than that, this stroller is a hit! I gave up on American brands after our first son was born and have switched numerous strollers since (Perego's, McLaren's etc), but this one is absolutely a work of art.

Summary: The Best Double Stroller Ever! 2008-01-20
Comment: I absolutely love this stroller! Initially, I balked at the idea of spending so much on a stroller. But, when I realized that I'd probably spend about the same amount on a regular double stroller and a double jogger while having less storage space in my garage/car, I thought I'd take a chance.

What I like:

1. As a double stroller, it is still only the size of a single, which makes it very easy to navigate in small places.
2. It folds up smaller than some single strollers--i.e. my Graco QuatroTour--so it doesn't take up the entire back end of my car.
3. It's very easy to manuever--also better than my Graco QuatroTour. I use it for walking and light jogging with my 40lb. 4 year old and 25lb. 15 month old; I still have a spare hand for the dog.
4. You can use it with the infant carrier car seats and have a child in the second seat. To do this, don't recline the first seat all the way down. Just unzip the sides, which is enough to accomodate the infant car seat, but still enough for a toddler to squeeze in the back seat.
5. I was concerned about whether or not my kids would mind sitting in the back seat, but neither seem to mind at all.

What I don't like:

1. When used as a double stroller, you lose the storage basket underneath (since the child's feet go there).
2. It doens't come with a snack tray for the child (I think you can order it separately) or a snack tray for the grown-ups. (I ordered a "BOB" one, which has two cup holders and a zippered pouch, and works just fine.)

This stroller is one of the neatest things I have seen and would highly recommend it to anyone. I have now had the stroller for a year and a half, and I am still in love with it.

Summary: More functionality, but it's no BOB 2007-09-03
Comment: I recently purchased this stroller with the doubles kit, as #2's arrival is imminent. First of all, Phil and Ted's supplies the world's worst instruction manual. It's poorly written and illustrated, and the design does not lend itself to using your intuition to put it together b/c there are so many different ways configure this stroller. That leads me to the best feature of this stroller. It is highly functional. It allows for single stroller use as well as use with an infant + toddler and use with two toddlers. I was disappointed to find that for a three wheel stroller, it is not nearly as easy to push and maneuver as the BOB. It is stiff and tends to tip when trying to turn sharply. I know my BOB is a single stroller without all of the functions of the Sport Buggy, but I guess I am spoiled by how easy life has been with BOB. I've had no problems steering my two year old with one hand while steering my dog's leash with the other hand. Unfortunately, it hasn't been easy with this buggy. I expect the Sport Buggy to be more difficult to maneuver as I add the weight of another baby to the stroller. However, I need to be fair and highlight that this stroller will carry two kids instead of one, without the added bulk of a full double stroller. I am hoping that over time, its functional features will outweigh it's limitations. Pros: double stroller capability, single stroller width, adjustable handlebar, easy to access undercarriage when in single position, easy to operate harness, both seats can recline, easy folding mechanism, relatively lightweight, streamlined design. Cons: cannot maneuver with one hand, sometimes difficult to steer with two hands, cramped undercarriage when in doubles position, foot brake is difficult to access in doubles position and is also difficult to operate regardless of stroller configuration, canopy is short and doesn't provide as much coverage as I'd hoped.

UPDATE: after using the stroller with two kids, I've found that it is actually easier to steer with added weight and a slight adjustment to the handle bar. I've only used it in the setting with the infant laying flat thus far, and it has been working out well. It can fold while in this configuration, which is nice, but it does make the stroller heavier. I now have the pannier bags b/c of the cramped undercarriage storage. The bags are great. I leave one on the stroller at all times, and I keep it loaded with diapers and essentials. The other one comes with me into the house, and I load it with snacks and whatever else I need on a given day. It's nice to know that I don't have to carry a diaper bag with me. There's enough gear with two kids, and this way I don't have to remember as much.
