In spite of the recall, we felt confident in buying another MacLaren for the arrival of our fourth child - and in fact purchased this for the car seat adapter, something MacLaren had never provided in the past. We used a Graco car seat, the exact model specified on the MacLaren materials and website. The bar that attaches to support the car seat was only initially tight-fitting, and within the first month of use it snapped off multiple times, causing the car seat to nearly fall to the ground. (Thankfully the belt was very firmly attached, so the baby was not injured.) The seat adapter *was* installed exactly as the directions advised, and my engineer husband even tried to determine a better/safer means of using this. Additionally, the stroller is wobbly; not stable as our other MacLarens have been, and the side 'lock' that is to keep it closed when folded frequently comes unlatched...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Maclaren Techno XLR Stroller, Black and Champagne (Baby Product) I am 5'11" and opted for a cheap Graco Metrolite as my primary stroller with my first child. It was uncomfortable to push and was falling apart after about 6 months, so I ended up using my BOB Revolution as my primary stroller. So for 2nd kid, I planned on exclusively using the BOB, but it took up so much space in my vehicle that I broke down and bought the Techno XLR. Love it! It is relatively compact and is perfect for taller parents. Baby seems comfortable, too. The full recline has been nice for naps and diaper changes--just slid a changing pad under. Beats that public changing tables! By This review is from: Maclaren Techno XLR Stroller Travel System, Charcoal (Baby Product) We LOVE this stroller. It is very easy to use, and can be folded and unfolded with one hand. We also love that it is light weight, and doesn't take up as much room as a standard stroller. The only things I wish we adapt are...#1there is no parent cup holder. We bought the parent accessory with 2 bottle holders, and it does just that holds only 2 small bottles. #2 The basket underneath is very small. I can fit my purse or a small (lunch bag size) diaper bag with just the essentials for baby. #3 You cannot fold the fold the stroller without first removing the car seat bar (we use the car seat bar as a play "tray" for my daughter. You can clip on any stroller or car seat toys and we've added a "Brica Snack Pod" too. Sometimes it's just inconvenient to move the bar first, and then fold up the stroller. Other than these three minor issues. We love love love this stroller! |
