The Inglesina Espresso 2006 is the perfect lightweight stroller. Summary: Terrific City Stroller 2006-11-11
Comment: Finally, a great stroller!! This is my fourth stroller in 14 months...and the my long search for a stroller that's light, comfortable for baby, easy to maneuver, and will fit in a city taxi's trunk (always ridiculously small!), has finally come to a happy end. We've owned our beautiful Inglesina Espresso stroller for just two weeks, but it gets used in the city every day, so I can provide some insight on it's pros and cons:
PROS:
- Light, just 12 lbs
- Truly a one-hand fold and unfold, only took two or three tries to perfect the technique
- When folded using the correct technique (as shown in instructions), it stands up, keeping it's nice material out of the dirt, and saving my back
- A canopy that actually does its job!!! No kidding, this canopy actually is big enough and will come all the way down to the belly bar to protect from sun, wind, and rain...one of it's best features!!! (photo in all ads does not do this justice!)
- Washable seat cover (I have not tried this yet)
- Adjustable and comfortable handle (one piece...much better than the two handled umbrella stroller style)
- Well padded, comfortable seat for my 14 month old
- Nice sized and easily accessed basket...not as big as my monster Graco, but bigger than any comparable stroller I've ever seen...holds the diaper bag, jacket, plus...
CONS:
- 2006 model DOES NOT come with the accessories advertised with the 2005 model...beware of web sites advertising this stroller using the 2005 description...what arrives will have no thermal boot and no raincover
- the seatback does not adjust to a full upright position...fine for infants, but frustrating for my young toddler who wants to sit up and see everything!
- The snaps on the seat harness are annoyingly difficult to open...it really hurts my fingers to release the lap restraint...which will only get more annoying as it gets colder outside...ughh
- The instruction manual is pitiful...luckily it was still very easy to assemble because it comes fully assembled, minus wheels and belly bar
Bottom line...there is NO perfect stroller out there...I've looked high and low, and I'd be willing to lay out the bucks if I could find it. But this Inglesina is as good as it gets and I highly recommend it if you want one that's light, really easy to fold, takes up very little trunk space, and easy to push!
