Summary: It's great for a gap with kids, I don't think good for twins when they are older 2007-12-16
Comment: Well I bought this stroller on a auction site about a year and half ago while expecting my 2nd. I'm now expecting baby #3 and worried how toddler #1 (3 years old) & #2 (will be 2 when #3 is born) will react to give up his space, am considering a sit & stand stroller by Baby Trend.
ANYHOW for the review. Stroller is great. The stroage is fantastic once you figure out how to lower the stroage basket while 2 kids are laying back/sleeping.
Parent tray is great, but for 2 kids there should be TWO cup holders on parent tray!
When #2 was born #1 was 20 months old. Everything was great, car seat snapped in the back and #1 was happy. Again, stroage is great, diaper bag went over the rail. I'd even strap thru a booster chair for eating as walking to a friend for lunch/dinner. As #2 grew, sitting up and getting bigger to reach out to #1 and PULL the living out of his hair. #2 quickly learned with warning from parent & #1 not to do that again. Okay problem solved.
Sun shade is GREAT for the front seat, since it can be moved - figure it out fast or you'll break it - back seat needs a hat or a blanket to keep sun out. If #2 is still in car seat that has sun shade, don't worry about it.
THE BACK SEAT CONVERTS INTO BASSINET AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW! Infant can be laying down secure in their little "Bed" - dear sister figured it out while visiting! Too bad baby was already 2 1/2 months old, it would have been a nice 'bed' for her before!
If you are getting this for twins, beaware, the front seat does NOT recline all the way. Again, but not a problem if babies are in car seats. #2 quickly learned how to fall asleep while reclining, but not straight. Still not a problem for me, since #1 is 3 now and it's not a problem.
Now for the stroage compartment. We've moved and most sidewalks do not have a area for strollers. And some un-paved roads, un-even walking. Meaning, stroage basket scrapes the bottom while trying to cross street, and if stroage basket is filled with heavy items, it will scrape bottom, and mine is to the breaking point, the middle part of the storage basket underneath - the material tore is exposing the cardboard and soon will be dragging on the floor, will have to remove the basket! I do notice, however, a new basket can be ordred as a spare part from Graco website.
I have, however, learnt, not to sit #1 in the back seat. Why? #1 can manuver to stand IN the stroage basket and not on foot rest, causing it to break. AND to KICK the living out of #2 in front! After warning, it's okay, but #1 knows back seat can recline and can sleep there. ONLY if he is pre-warned not to kick, he MAY get in there and SLEEP but not sit after long period of time, since they will kick, or bother #2 in front. Then #1 is warned to get out and walk or switch the kids!
The front seat does not have a strong support, so if #2 or #1 kicks whomever is in FRONT seat, can cause entire back to arch forward and get hurt if not strapped in with 5 point harrness. My kids are usually strapped in with 3 point harness. 5 point harness can keep #2 down when younger if needed to nap, or stay in place on recline, so they can't sit up and kick #1!
Yes, other reviewer said you can't see your kids when canopys are open, and you feel you are pushing a train.
It fits nicely in our Mazda 323! I have LONG since removed the front tray, the cup holders just simply fell out - usless. Small cars, the front canopy and both snack trays come right off quickly to get into the trunk.
Well I'm 5'3 and you might need a little strength to push it, but if you've had it as long as I have, and I've seen other strollers that come in peices (waste of my time and space takers), side by side - which don't work on small sidewalks, stores, and small elevators. In my humble opnion, side by side stollers and 'train' strollers, kids will bother each other in any way no matter what shape! This stoller is working great and people are always asking WHERE I got it from. This is better then the older version, since it's lighter and 'updated' system.
Also, went on auction site and got a generic rain cover for cheap, only problem is doesn't cover #1 feet when raining, but still kids were safe dry and great for wind protecting, kids thought it was fun being covered up!
I've pushed this stroller while holding another 11 month old proped up on handlebars and holding onto me, and still was able to get around.
Well I hope you found this review enjoyable. Overall, the stroller is FANTASTIC. Now if only it had jogging wheels! Still haven't found a stoller that is back to back with better wheels!

Summary: Overall, Quite Pleased 2007-08-22
Comment: I did ALOT of research when it came time to buy a double stroller. I had a son and was expecting a daughter so I wanted something that would be gender neutral without being boring.
The Samba is mostly black with highlights of blueish/purpleish color, that I really like. I was afraid it would get hot in the summer, but the fabric is very soft and my kids stayed nice and cool. Its not vinyl, even though it looks like it is in the pictures.
I did clip in an infant seat in the rear seat of the stroller for a bit. That was very easy and secure. The stroller is easy to maneuver, and it fits everywhere.
It folds easily and fits into my truck without a problem. The storage basket goes along the entire bottom of the stroller, so there is TONS of storage space. It has clip on trays with cup holders for each child, and a cup holder for mom with a storage pocket.
Now the negatives...The rear seat foot rest is over the storage bin. So if your child has dirty shoes, your stuff will get dirty. When you have an infant seat clipped in, the adult cup holder tray is so large that you cannot see the baby without standing on your tip toes. The adult tray does come off relatively easily, but then you are without a cup holder.
Lowering the storage basket was tricky at first, but after you get the hang of it, its simple.
It is very difficult to shield the child in the rear from the sun. There is a gap between the canopies. I actually broke the front canopy off, and Graco replaced it free of charge, no questions asked.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this stroller. We've had it a year now, and it looks brand new. And we are passing it along to another family who needs it.
