Editorial Review

An umbrella stroller can be a valuable addition to the repertoire of any parents on the go. This sporty red model from Chicco sports four sets of swiveling double wheels and a basket underneath the seat that can be used to hold toys, snacks, or shopping items collected on walks. A canopy hood can be extended over the seat for particularly sunny days or sudden cloud bursts. An adjustable footrest can keep kids' legs comfortably dangle-free. It measures 40 inches tall, 18.5 inches wide, and 34 inches long and is intended for kids up to 36 months or 15 kilograms (about 33 pounds). Most importantly for parents, the stroller is collapsible so it can easily be tossed in the back seat or trunk on any variety of trips. Several customers have reported problems with the stroller's screws so one may wish to double check the screws' tightness before use. --Charlie Williams

Summary: SHOULD BE RECALLED!! 2004-07-13
Comment: This stroller has now broken on me twice!! (two separate problems) The first time, the screws popped out, so I called Chicco customer service which was prompt and professional. They overnighted me a new stroller. Just three months later, it collapsed and was unusable once again. I called customer service and was assured I would have a new stroller shipped to me immediately. By day three, I called only to find out that it still had not been shipped. I live in New York City where a stroller is an essential mode of transportation, so this was not acceptable to me. I asked to have one couriered over. "It costs too much money," I was told. As a result, I have given up on this company. I bought an Inglesina instead (which is more durable, lighter, has a bigger basket and also reclines). Chicco was supposed to come by and pick up my damaged stroller and issue me a refund, but they never showed up. This company is irresponsible. I too, loved the stoller when I first got it, but it has proved to be unreliable. And their customer service is now apparently trying to cut corners as they are innundated with complaints.

Summary: Now THIS is an umbrella stroller!!!! :) 2004-07-12
Comment: I bought this stroller about 2 weeks before we were going on vacation to Kauai as I didn't want to take the full-sized stroller for my 3 month old daughter. I know the stroller says it's for ages 6 months to 3 years, but it worked GREAT for out 3 month old!! The 5-point harness is so easy to use. You can also use it as a 3 point harness and not snap on the shoulder straps. It reclines easily and the adjustable foot-rest was great. My daughter's feet didn't have to dangle off the front. Folding it is very easy as well, I can do it one handed with my daughter in the other hand. And best of all, it's very light weight and comes with a full-sized rain cover!! I've found that I use this stroller more than my full-sized one now!!!

Summary: Another Update 2004-07-08
Comment: Okay, so the first time we used the new stroller, one of the back wheels fell off, and we didn't notice for months.

I called the company, told them what happened, they had me read some numbers off the back, and in less than a week we had a new stroller sitting in our house.

Their customer service is fabulous.

Summary: The best I've used! 2004-06-24
Comment: I am in love with this stroller. I was surprised by my third pregnancy and had just gotten rid of all of my baby items. The others were 6 and 9 at the time. My friends threw me a baby shower and I received a Graco travel system. I had previously had a Graco stroller. I loved the convenience of plopping in the carseat, but when the baby was 5 mos. old we took a vacation and I searched everywhere for a lightweight stroller that would be easy to fly with. I was looking for a canopy, reclining and a basket. I found all three. The rain cover came in handy and since that vacation I have not taken the stroller out of my van. The Graco sits in the garage and only gets used when we stroll the neighborhood. I am now pregnant with my 4th and will need to find a great double stoller as the babies will only be 22 months apart. I hate to give up this stroller! I recommend it to everyone I know. My older ones like to push it, my middle daughter who is now 7 can even ride in it once in a while! The best in the umbrella market!

Summary: Wonderful stroller 2004-06-12
Comment: This stroller is great! It easily folds, and is very small. I got it because the stroller that I got with my carrier is SO big. This stroller has a reclining seat, so baby doesn't have to sit straight up, and it has a small basket area. The visor is sturdy and has very good coverage. The end of the seat can be pulled up so that baby's legs don't hang. It steers excellent! My biggest concern was that the wheels didn't turn the wrong direction like the cheap umbrella strollers do. It doesn't do that at all. This stroller has many of the perks of a big stroller, without the size. Plus, it isn't as expensive as some of the others. It is definitely worth the money! By the way, you can get a cup holder to attach onto it made by Prince Lionhart I think. It works great with it.
