Summary: Wonderful stroller 2008-09-04
Comment: I am so shocked that not all these reviews aren't 5 stars. We love this stroller. My baby is now 9 months old and we have been using it since day one. Our family is very active with running and hiking and I am very impressed with this stroller.
For light jogging purposes (3-5 miles is all I do) on the street and trail it is great. The rain flap works great, we never used the infant car seat attachment (we "babywear" a lot, so the car seat stayed in car). I will admit the directions to put it together weren't that easy to follow, but customer service with Bumble Ride is very friendly. The canopy works well and covers a lot, sometimes the sun is just in the wrong spot to cover completely.
I walk to the grocery store a lot too. I can fit a large grocery bag in the base and a six pack of beer.
And most important my baby loves it. He loves the pattern on the inside (we have the red stroller), he just chills and almost always falls asleep.

Summary: Looks Great - Preforms Below Average 2008-08-15
Comment: Bumbleride offers a very stylish, great concept with this stroller. After months of research on "urban" strollers, we purchased a Bumbleride Indie. Bumbleride has AMAZING customer service - and was exteremly helpful during our first month with this product. This stroller looks great but has some issues with quality and functionality. The cup holder attachment is not secure and I would never put a liquid that close to my child, not practical. The seat recline seems to be a little on the unstable side, we have a larger 6 month old (19 lbs) and already have issues reclining easily with that weight in the stroller. The mechanics of the recline seem to be poorly constructed. The biggest issue we have with this stroller is the canopy - if you want to keep it in one position (upright) it seems to stay most of the time. Once you move the canopy forward or backward to accommodate the sun's location or to see your child, the entire canopy shifts/slips and does not stay in place. After many troubleshooting emails and shipments of new parts, we unfortunately needed to move on from the Indie and find a more solid, better constructed urban stroller. Customer Service at Bumbleride gets 5+ stars, quality of product much lower.

Summary: bumbleride indie vs bob revolution 2008-08-08
Comment: We had the BOB Revolution for about 10 months but sold it and bought the 2007 Bumbleride Indie in spring 2008. Both strollers have their strengths and weaknesses. The BOB seems really well made, it was extremely easy to assemble out of the the box, and overall felt very solid on smooth or bumpy ground. It also had a huge canopy and a cleverly designed jogging wrist strap that according to the manufacturer, would keep the stroller upright even if you fell splat on your face. Never had the opportunity to test that claim out though. As for the weaknesses, there weren't many - it was a bit tippy when the car seat was attached (reasonable), the reclining mechanism took both hands, it doesn't recline very much, the handlbar was not adjustable (tough for me b/c I'm short), and but the kicker - our son hated it. He would start crying as soon as we placed him near it. We tried for 10 months to get him to like it - bought all the accessories, padded it up - no success. Never did figure out why he didn't like it - I think he just couldn't see much because the sides are really deep, and there's also no back support, just the canvas backing, so his back was always hunched.
Onto the Indie. It has a lot of features but overall it doesn't feel very sturdy. It creaks and squeaks. Ours came broken out of the box (stuck handlebar) and was a pain to put together - it's not hard, but which parent wants to spend more than 5 min. putting anything together? I actually didn't put it together right apparently and on our first test drive the wheels kept falling off the stroller! I called Cust. Serv and they talked me through it.
Cust. Serv. also sent me a new frame because the stuck handlebar was not fixable. So, after putting the darn thing together again (this time it was even more of a pain because I had to strip the fabric off the old one and stick it on the new one), everything works and we're actually quite happy.
The best things about the bumbleride indie - a) LIGHT, b) adjustable foot rest, c) giant, easily accessible basket, d) comes with a foot muff, bumper bar, car seat adapter, d) adjustable handlbar, e) pretty good sized canopy, f) reasonably priced for what you get. What I don't like is that there's nowhere to for our son to lean his head, and he can pull the canopy up and down as he pleases. I also find it cumbersome to fold, but it's pretty compact once it's folded up (there are straps that keep it folded, and a carrying handle too).
The Indie is less tippy than the BOB, probably because the back two wheels are wider apart. It doesn't roll as smoothly as the BOB (but the BOB had two 16'' wheels in the back where the Indie has two 12'' wheels in the back), but it seems more comfy. If you're going to use the stroller strictly for jogging (trail or road), I'd get the BOB. But, if you're going to use it for everyday outings, I'd probably get the Indie. The Indie does fine for slow or medium speed jogging even with the front wheel unlocked; I've not used it for serious race training. I didn't like the BOB for jogging but only because the handlebar was too high for me, and you really notice that when you're jogging.
I've given the Indie 4 stars - probably would have given 3.5 if that was an option. I'd give it a 2 for quality but a 5 for the bells and whistles and weight. I think if I were to do it all over again, I'd probably get a travel system, a bike trailer/stroller, and an umbrella stroller - but not the BOB or Indie. Cheers.

Summary: Bumbleride Indie Stroller Review 2008-07-13
Comment: Great stroller! Very lightweight, great for newborn and handles smoothly. Storage is better than our travel system stroller and cup holder can hold a variety of water bottle sizes. We bought this because it fit our Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat and has been easy to use with the car seat. I am not a serious runner, but use it daily for walking/jogging short distances and it has thus far held up extremely well- the option to lock the front wheel has been great. I also loved the extras that came with the stroller- foot muff, tire pump, etc. The biggest drawback is the folding mechanism- extremely confusing. The owner's guide does a poor job of explaining how to fold it up. After logging on the the Bumbleride website and watching the video on how to fold this stroller up, we were finally able to fold it. It takes some practice and the handlebar levers are in an awkward. Once you learn how to manipulate the folding mechanism it is easy- it just takes a few tries. The Indie folds up compactly and back wheels remove- a plus when packing this stroller in a car. I would highly recommend this stroller to friends.

Summary: I love this stroller 2008-07-01
Comment: My husband and I enjoy the outdoors and needed a light weight stroller that we could easily maneuver with one hand on the bumpy terrain (broken sidewalks and gravel, rooty trails) as well as accommodate top rated car seats. We also wanted a stroller that was lightweight and folded up small. The Bumbleride Indie met all these criteria and more. The stroller is very easy to maneuver, weighs only 20 lbs, fits easily into the trunk of my husband's car, and accommodates as well as coordinates with our Chicco Key Fit 30 car seat.
When compared to the other all-terrain strollers we were impressed with how many features were included in the Indie that the other strollers charged extra for, such as: foot muff, cup holder, large storage basket, tire pump, etc. While my girlfriends are pushing their pricey, high-end strollers, wearing diaper-bag backpacks (because their storage baskets are tiny), manipulating their water bottles (no cup holder) while maneuvering the front tires over and around obstacles (small, non-inflated front tires), we are cruising along effortlessly anywhere we go.
We also loved the added features the Indie offered: a lockable front wheel so I can jog with it (disclaimer, I am not a serious jogger, more of the speed-walker/jog type); three large inflated wheels, two of which have mini-shocks for a very smooth ride; seat that reclines almost completely flat so we could use it as a bassinet when our son was younger; large, adjustable canopy; one-step foot break/release; adjustable handlebar that accommodates my height and my husbands; stroller lock so that it doesn't unfold when you pick it up; and fabric that is totally washable and can be replaced with the newest fashions and color for the next baby.
To be fair, the Indie has one draw-back, the stroller takes some practice to fold-up--you have to disengage the handlebar and then pull on a lever behind the seat to fold it down. However, both my husband and I can now do this in a matter of seconds. Tip: After you disengage the handlebars, step on the break while releasing the backrest lever and pulling the lever towards you and to the ground--it collapses right up.
I would highly recommend this stroller to those parents who describe themselves as the fashionable, outdoors types.
