Britax B-Ready and B-Scene Mosquito Net

So far as I can tell after one use, the quality of the material used for this mosquito net is adequate. However, the construction is very, very shoddy. Brand new, right out of the box, the seams were misaligned and coming apart. Most troubling is the following. The mosquito net has four elastic bands, two on each side, that are designed to hold the net in place as the stroller is used. However, the bands were not tacked down properly. Pulling on them with very minor force (to attach to the stroller) caused two of the bands to detach completely. The net was never used before I had to have a seamstress repair it. (Under normal circumstances I would have returned it but we needed something to protect our infant from biting insects and the repair was the quickest option.)

Bought this in spite of the bad reviews, I have been using it for about a week now and I have not had any trouble with it. The seams appear to be secure and properly sewn. I do agree with the other reviewers in that the elastic bands are a cheap method of securing this to the stroller. Britax has so many quality products, so I am a bit surprised they couldn't come up with something slightly more sophisticated than cheap elastic. But all in all, it has done exactly what I purchased it for; keep the bugs off my daughter and keep the UV rays off her legs. We live in Florida, so I will be using this quite frequently, I will update if I have any trouble with this in the future.

I had the same problem as another reviewer. The elastic bands that are used to tie the net to the stroller are not tacked down properly and the stitching came apart on the first use only. Didn't expect poor quality control from Britax which makes nice strollers and car seats. I have asked for a replacement to see if it is any better and will update this review later.

Update 04/06/12
The replacement was a bit more sturdy and has lasted installation on the stroller. Still the stitching does not seem to be flimsy on the elastic bands. I will try this for a while and may have to put a few stitches as there is no other net which would fit B Ready so well.
Britax shows this net installed on top seat when it is forward facing and the elastic bands are secured to the stroller frame.
